A focused workspace for KST sets, styles, pads, Keyboard Sets, sounds and samples. Draw and edit patterns, listen to your changes, then save with a backup.
Set management
- Browse and search sets; copy, move, rename and organise resources and banks.
- Bring supported user sounds and their sample dependencies into free slots when combining sets.
- Find duplicates, inspect sound usage, remap sounds and clean up unused resources.
- Check sample-memory requirements, back up your set, undo saves and copy to USB.
- Export saved-set inventories as HTML, text or CSV, or print a list.
Style and pad editing
- Play intros, variations, fills, breaks, endings and pads on the PC.
- Draw drum hits and piano-roll notes in the Studio; adjust timing, velocity and length.
- Change sounds, mixer settings and supported effects; compare your edit with the original.
- Copy sections between styles; change section length and meter, or insert a silent bar in supported layouts.
- Edit existing native chord sequences and the style's Keyboard Sets.
- Import and export individual part patterns as MIDI. Use a MIDI keyboard for chord input.
Sounds and samples
- Audition supported user sounds and drum kits; edit their supported parameters.
- Trim, fade, normalise and loop audio; export supported samples as WAV.
- Build mapped multisamples from WAV files.
- Slice a percussion loop into playable hits and export the matching MIDI rhythm.
What you hear on the PC
PC playback uses supported samples from your KST. Korg factory samples are not included in the app or the KST; substitute sounds are used where possible. Some sounds, articulations, effects and levels may differ from your Pa5X. Check the final result on the keyboard.
Unavailable articulations or unsupported sample layers may be silent. PC playback is an editing preview, not a reproduction of the Pa5X sound engine.
Current limits
Sample compression saving, SET-to-KST conversion, protected PCM and round-robin editing are not supported. Unsupported sample transfers are blocked. Not every native parameter is editable. Full-style MIDI export, REX import and automatic time-sliced PAD creation are not included; current slicing exports a sound and MIDI rhythm.
The separate Performance workspace and experimental remote tools are hidden in this release. Existing data stays on your PC and unrelated set files are preserved. This product does not include a complete SongBook editor or a stage/lyrics workspace.
Use an edited copy for the first load and audition on the Pa5X before performing live. Software checks do not replace checking the instrument.
